Pasifae

Escultura del vilanovense Òscar Estruga, realizada con tres toneladas de cobre.


PASIFAE

Poseidón, dios del mar, envió un toro blanco al rey Minos de Creta para que lo sacrificara en su honor.

El rey Minos no lo hizo, provocando la ira de Poseidón. El dios se vengó haciendo que la mujer del rey, Pasifae, se enamorara locamente de aquel toro blanco.

Bajo las órdenes de la reina, Dédalo -que era el ingeniero de la época- construyó una vaca de madera, donde se escondió Pasifae.

Así, Pasifae pudo consumar su amor con el toro blanco. De su unión nació el minotauro.

La muerte del minotauro, a manos del ateniense Teseo, liberó del miedo a todos los pueblos del mediterráneo.

Pasiphaë

Poseidón, God of the sea, sent a white bull to king Minos of Crete so that it sacrificed it in his honor.
King Minos did not do it, causing the wrath of Poseidón. The God took revenge itself causing that the woman of the king, Pasifae, fell in love crazy with that white bull.
Under the orders of the queen,Dédalo , who was the engineer of the time constructed a wood cow, where Pasifae hid.
Thus, Pasifae could complete its love with the white bull. And minotauro was born...
The death of minotauro, at hands of the Teseo athenian, released from the fear to all the towns of the Mediterranean.
